Yesterday after scanning virus with Kaspersky online(which is a Java Applet), I saved the log file in my documents; however, I can’t find it anywhere in my document folder. I thought it was lost, so I opened the online scanner and tried to save again and I still saw the old file there. I wondered where did it go, so I searched for it, but Vista’s search function is quite useless and it didn’t find it. I then looked into the AppData folder to try to find it but still nothing. Later on I tried to boot into Linux and searched for the file again, and I found it in the “AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Virtualized” folder, which was kinda weird. It was Vista’s new security feature to Virtualize those programs that are incompatible and make them to write to a different folder than the actual one, but how come other programs can’t see those virtualized files? To prevent things like this, I have to run Internet Explorer as administrator to save the file in order for the file to be written to the correct folder.

Ubuntu 8.10 is supposed to fix the apm=128 issue which causes high loading/unloading cycles for some hard drives; however, it is still BROKEN by default, here’s why:
the file 90-hdparm.sh located in various folders in /etc/acpi such as /etc/acpi/ac.d/, /etc/acpi/battery.d/, /etc/acpi/resume.d/, and /etc/acpi/start.d/ is supposed to fix the hdparm problem; however, notice the following lines:

DO_HDPARM=y
if [ -e /usr/sbin/laptop_mode ] ; then
LMT_CONTROL_HD_POWERMGMT=$(. /etc/laptop-mode/laptop-mode.conf && echo “$CONTROL_HD_POWERMGMT”)
if [ "$LMT_CONTROL_HD_POWERMGMT" != 0 ] ; then
# Laptop mode controls hdparm -B settings, we don’t.
DO_HDPARM=n
fi
fi

This checks if the file /usr/sbin/laptop_mode exists and if it exists, then it checks if CONTROL_HD_POWERMGMT in laptop-mode.conf is set to a non-zero number in order to determine if laptop mode is enabled. However, Ubuntu installs laptop-mode-tools by default, so /usr/sbin/laptop_mode always exist and that by itself does not tell whether laptop mode is on. Rather, ubuntu turns laptop mode off by default by setting the variable ENABLE_LAPTOP_MODE=false in /etc/default/acpi-support, but this variable is not used anywhere except in the init script /etc/init.d/laptop-mode from line 30 to 37:

# FIXME: this shouldn't be configured there
if [ -f /etc/default/acpi-support ]; then
. /etc/default/acpi-support;
fi

if [ x$ENABLE_LAPTOP_MODE = xfalse ]; then
exit 0;
fi
which stops the script from executing if the variable is set to false. One funny thing about this is that it says FIXME in the comment but it actually never get fixed even after Ubuntu 8.10 is released. With Ubuntu’s default settings laptop mode tool is supposed to be disabled by ENABLE_LAPTOP_MODE=false, but the script 90-hdparm.sh always thought that it is enabled as long as laptop mode is installed because /usr/sbin/laptop_mode is always there. It then checks the variable CONTROL_HD_POWERMGMT in /etc/laptop-mode/laptop-mode.conf, which is 1 by default, and it will set DO_HDPARM=n, thinking that laptop-mode is on and letting it to handle hard drive’s APM setting instead while actually laptop-mode is OFF and not taking care of the APM problem. This makes nobody changing the hard drive’s default APM setting from 128 to something else, leaving the clicking problem unsolved.
I did some workaround to 90-hdparm.sh by changing the line
“if [ -e /usr/sbin/laptop_mode ] ; then”
to
“if [ -e /var/run/laptop-mode-tools/enabled ] ; then”
in order to check if laptop mode tool is enabled, because whenever laptop mode tool is enabled, it creates the file /var/run/laptop-mode-tools/enabled, so I think this is the right way to check if it is actually enabled rather than just installed. I also think that the variable ENABLE_LAPTOP_MODE in /etc/default/acpi-support should be removed instead, just as Debian did in acpi-support version 1.109-5. That variable is just there to confuse people more and mess up the configurations. Even the comment in /etc/init.d/laptop-mode says “FIXME: this shouldn’t be configured there” already, why don’t they just fix it right now and make all these things less messy. I have tested Debian six months before and they really did a good job in fixing those hard drive clicking issues by making the 90-hdparm.sh file and removing the ENABLE_LAPTOP_MODE variable.

I had problem uploading my sitemap to Google’s Webmaster Tools since October 22. Google used to pick up my sitemap in about 30 minutes, but this time it showed last download is October 21 and it had been pending for more than a day until it finally downloaded it. In the mean time I also submitted a sitemap for my new website, but I really caught the bad time and it took me three days before Google download the sitemap for the first time, ahhhh. I googled around and checked the Google Groups about this issue and I found out that many people had the same problem and it was something to do with Google. Hopefully they will fix this soon.

Today when I went to check this blog at about 3:30pm PST I figured out that it took very long for it to respond and it can’t connect to the database. I then checked other websites but also the same. Later on I figured out that’s because steadfast’s mysql2 database server was down as their hard drive screwed up :(. I checked their website and they said they replaced the hard drive, but they needed filesystem check as well. I waited and waited for a few hours but at 7:55PM CT they said the filesystem check process restarted and I have to wait again. I kept on checking their update about the problem and at 9:45pm they said the filesystem check is completed and some data are corrupted, but they have the backup from the morning. I then checked my website and it worked for a like a minute or so but down again. Later on I checked their update again and realized that the good news is gone; instead they replaced it with a bad news in 10:00pm saying that the RAID card screwed up and they’ll look at it. An hour and a half later the bad news came, that the whole RAID array is gone and they had to replace the whole thing! After another hour wait they said they are installing the system back to the new drives and finally at 1:13 AM they are up again, and they restored the backup that was taken at 1:30AM CT on October 21, ahhhh. Fortunately nothing was changed on my websites at that time of period.
I have never had any issue with this hosting company before. My websites were almost never down until yesterday, but this time it is been down for too long. It was down for more than six hours. On all other hosting companies that I have before they have downtime as well, but only for a very short time rather than this lengthy delay. However, this issue is not common and I hope that this won’t happen again.

Today I helped my neighbors to upgrade his Windows Vista that comes from the pc from premium to ultimate so that I can install the chinese language pack for them. I actually helped them to buy the upgrade from premium to ultimate online for about $172. After buying it I got the license file with the product key on it and started the update. The upgrade took about one hour and went fine. After the upgrade I was happy and trying to install the language pack from Windows Update, but the language pack failed to install when it’s half way through with code 2 error! I restarted the computer, tried it again, but it’s still the same! Still can’t fix it even after clicking the get help next to the code 2 error and search online for solutions of the problem! I actually found many people with the same problem and no solution! Some people said that the only way to get through it is make a clean install of Windows rather than using the one that comes with the PC. Later I called microsoft support for help and that guy simply sucks, can’t do anything about it either. Afterward I didn’t have any other way to fix this and I decided to resize the Windows partition and make a new partition to install Windows on it. The first time I installed Windows Vista ultimate with the Upgrade Anytime CD without the cd key I bought because it didn’t work. After installing it didn’t work either because the cd key can’t be used for activation. After that I tried to instal premium first with the computer’s product key and then upgrade to Ultimate, but without activating the premium first and couldn’t use the cd key either. Of course it failed again. Finally I gave it one more chance by clean installing premium first and then activate it. After activating the premium I can finally use the upgrade cd key to upgrade to ultimate and install the language pack! Phew… almost wasted the money that I use to upgrade. I think the language pack doesn’t work with the preinstalled Windows in many computer and I had to make a clean install instead to get it work.

If you want to install ubuntu 7.04 Feisty, but you don’t want to modify your Windows partition and you want to install it inside, Wubi is for you. According to its website:

Wubi is an unofficial Ubuntu installer for Windows users that will bring you into the Linux world with a few clicks. Wubi allows you to install and uninstall Ubuntu as any other application. If you heard about Linux and Ubuntu, if you wanted to try them but you were afraid, this is for you.

Moreover, Wubi doesn’t need you to replace the default Windows bootloader, as “Wubi adds an entry to the Windows boot menu which allows you to run Linux. Ubuntu is installed within a file in the windows file system (c:\wubi\disks\system.virtual.disk), this file is seen by Linux as a real hard disk.” Then it loads the file as a loopback root Filesystem, kind like those described in “The Loopback Root Filesystem HOWTO,” but with the loopback filesystem is actually in Windows’s partition.

Since Wubi makes Ubuntu run inside Windows partition, there will be a little bit performance penalty, especially when your Windows partition is fragmented. Moreover, if there were any error in the ntfs partition that affects the system virtual disk, you need to fix the errors with something like chkdsk in Windows first before booting Ubuntu. If you’re not afraid of partitioning, I still recommend you to install Ubuntu in a separate partition.

Wubi’s Website

Some screenshots of the Wubi installer:

The affiliate program of ACOP(American Consumer Opinion) is sometimes broken. The affiliate server has been down twice for long time since I joined it, either for the view report page or for the affiliate links. Once the server is down when you try to open one of those pages you’ll get an http 500 server error with the message “Server Error in ‘/’ Application.” There must be an error in the server’s configuration that needs to be fixed.
There’s another glitch in that affiliate program’s design, that the text links are not supposed to have impressions. Since the static text links are just a bunch of code within the web page, when we load the web page we don’t load anything from the server that tracks the link’s impressions. Impressions can only be tracked from the ads that load images, scripts, or others from the server. Because of this mistake I get only one impression in total per many clicks and a click through rate much higher than 100%. That was not possible. The first time I saw this I was frightened, until I realize that they can know how many times the link is clicked, but not how many times it’s loaded.
The other mistake in the affiliate program is that if you use an email address with numbers only in the domain name like ***@163.com or ***@126.com, it rejects the registrations automatically. That affected many users from China since many of them use those kinds of email address. I didn’t realize that until many people told me that they had failed the registration, and they all used those kinds of email address. This glitch is more serious and I hope they fix that as soon as possible.
update: Although There’s some glitches in its affiliate program, it actually PAYS, on 12/23/2006 I got the check from it.

Today finally I got the check with four bucks from Adbrite, one of the pay-per-click program. Although it said it pays based on net-60 basis, it took me about four months to get this first check. On the other hand despite it takes so long for the first check, there’s no minimum threshold for the payments, you can set the minimum check amount as low as you want. Because of this Adbrite is great for alternate ads, since it pays out no matter how little you earned. Many people including myself uses adsense+adbrite for alternate ads in case of adsense can’t find any ads.

The pages with wordpress K2 theme loads fast when you click them, but if you try to refresh the page it will be very slow to load, while other themes don’t have this problem. To fix this follow this guide taken from K2’s forum:

find the folder js inside the K2 folder, then for each .js.php file comment out the ‘require(….. wp-blog-header.php)’ line and replace ‘!get_settings(’gzipcompression’)’ with ‘( ob_get_length() === FALSE)’. After that the first few lines should look like this:

//require(dirname(__FILE__)."/../../../../wp-blog-header.php");
// check to see if the user has enabled gzip compression in the WordPress admin panel
if ( (ob_get_length() === FALSE) and !ini_get('zlib.output_compression') and ini_get('output_handler') != 'ob_gzhandler' and ini_get('output_handler') != 'mb_output_handler' ) {
ob_start('ob_gzhandler');
}

Then add the following lines on the top of the files livesearch.js.php and rollingarchives.js.php after the php tag:

// Echo a translated string.
function _e($text, $domain = 'default') {
global $l10n;

if (isset($l10n[$domain]))
echo apply_filters(’gettext’, $l10n[$domain]->translate($text), $text);
else
echo $text;
}

For livesearch.js.php, <del>comments.js.php</del>:
replace all

bloginfo("template_url")

with

echo str_replace($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'],”,realpath(dirname(__FILE__) . ‘/../’))

There are two instances of these in <del>comments.js.php</del>, and one in livesearch.js.php.

After all these the pages will refresh very fast.

Yesterday I started to look for a reliable web hosting. I searched online trying to find a good yet reliable web hosting and realized that many of them either require you to pay for a whole year at once to get a cheaper price(which is still not cheap), or have too few bandwidth per month in general.
After hours of struggle I found Host Department and almost signed up for it, but its website was very unprofessional and very tricky, i.e. you have to click “Php Web Hosting” in the bottom of the page where it says “Host Department’s Specialty Hosting:” in order to get php hosting package at the same price instead of the non-php, also the advertisement in the home page is very confusing and the sign up process is very poorly designed, i just gave up before paying for it.
I then tried GoDaddy’s hosting’s Economy Plan, it allows you to pay about $8 for the first two months and $4 each month afterwards. But alas, while GoDaddy is good for domain registration it really sucks for hosting, it takes about thirty minutes to do what you could have done instantly in other hostings, like setting up the account and creating a mysql database, its server software is very outdated, it gave me hard time to import mysql databases because of its older version of mysql. Finally it doesn’t seem to support .htaccess that well, you can’t make custom error pages there, but only in the freaking control panel that takes even thirty minutes to change custom error page. I also heard other people say about the lock table issue when hosted on GoDaddy. Because of all these I gave up GoDaddy and asked them for refund on the hosting account calling the non-toll-free number.
Later on I stopped looking for cheap web hosting because for me they’re unreliable unless they provide less features like space and bandwidth. I looked for some more expensive yet reliable ones and found HostGator and DreamHost. HostGator got many positive honest reviews from some trusted sites like whreviews.com, while for DreamHost it has more disk space and bandwidth. I had asked some people who is using it about its reliability and many of them didn’t have any problems with it. But I first decided to use HostGator anyways with its baby plan since it allows me to pay with paypal and I can try it the first month for $0.01, the plan is $9.95 each month and with a promo code like “jury” you can get $9.94 off for the first month on plans other than hatchling(the cheapest one, billed annually and 1 month free with promo code), I was very satisfied with it and didn’t have any reason to switch.
But today I had one little problem, a problem that probably won’t apply to you. I asked one friend from China to visit my blog and surprisingly they said they can’t open it anymore since I switched to HostGator, I then asked others to try to open it and they can’t either! I started to realize that HostGator is blocked in China by its “Great Firewall”, just like Blogger had been blocked! That really frustrated me since I’m planning to develop a Chinese website with other registered domains in the same hosting account to take advantage of its multiple domain hosting, I also didn’t want to lose any visitors from China. I had to switch again since what I’ll lose is just one cent. I then switched my blog to DreamHost today, which has a lot more nice features, space and bandwidth, and I’m very satisfied with it. It has many more features than HostGator plus 200 GB Disk Storage and 2 TB bandwidth even with its basic plan with the same price as HostGator’s baby plan.

Bonus: if you sign up with the promo code USEFULHOST50 for DreamHost you’ll get
$50 off (the maximum possible) on any hosting plans

Until today I paid more attention on what it said I realized that it’s just a notice that tells us to upgrade to AVG 7.5 for free. I can’t upgrade to AVG 7.5 in the update manager, I had to go to AVG’s website to download it and install it using the Repair Install option, after that restart and everything is done. I’m very happy that AVG keeps its antivirus software for free, I hope that they’ll also keep it for free in the future.

Today I asked some of my friends in China to open my Blogger’s blog, surprisingly nobody could open it while I could, then I though maybe Blogger is blocked again. After that I searched “blogspot blocked china” in google and found many recent blog posts that said they can’t open blogger’s blog recently and blogger is probably blocked in china again. Fortunately I moved my blog from blogger to WordPress a month earlier, so now this blog is still accessible worldwide.
update: it’s unblocked on 11/21/06 or earlier.

Now I have one sidebar on the left and one on the right. The theme is similar to 3k2, but I didn’t use 3k2 since the last time it’s updated is like half years ago, it uses a much older version of K2 which probably has some bugs that cause trouble. I really liked the style TechnoBlue, since it looks very nice and neat, if you’re looking for a three-column K2 with a nice style it should be your choice.

In the entry Let Your Blog Be Social nongeek talked about the advantage of social bookmarking and how to add bookmark area in blogger’s template. You can also do that in wordpress too, using the same way he said in that post, but substitute Blogger’s template tags with wordpress’s tags. For example, if you want a “Submit to del.icio.us” line you should add

Submit to: <a href="http://del.icio.us/post?url=<?php the_permalink()
?>;title=<?php the_title(); ?>" >del.icio.us</a>

instead of

Submit to: <a href="http://del.icio.us/post?url=<$BlogItemPermalinkURL$>;title=<$BlogItemTitle$>"
>del.icio.us</a>

to your template’s php file before or after the line
<?php the_content('something'); ?>
depending on if you want it to appear before or after the posts.

If you want to submit to Digg there’s a great WordPress plugin called Digg This for WordPress Reloaded that lets you to add a very cool “Digg This button” like the one I have in the posts, without changing the template’s codes. It also comes with a Complete admin interface with options for many customizations, like positioning the button, what pages to show the button, the style of the button , and many others.

Adbrite should not include Alexa ranking in their listing, since Alexa rankings are very inaccurate and very easy to be manipulated. I learned from various web sites that its rankings are for the uninformative only, if you google search “alexa ranking” you’ll find about the truth of Alexa ranking through various websites. Comparing Alexa ranking of the websites in the listing could be misleading and could misinform people about the website’s real traffic. I once tried autosurf and other Alexa boosting method and my website’s ranking rose from none to around 6,000,000 within less than one week, and Adbrite gave it about one and half star for the Alexa ranking in related to other listed sites, without that much real traffic. Also some websites are in the subdomain of others, this would cause the ranking of the domain on top of it shown instead of the subdomain’s. Alexa ranking can not be trusted, I don’t know why Adbrite included it to compare with other websites.

SoCal Free Net is a very good free dialup ISP , it’s free for anyone living in Southern California. Unlike NetZero or Juno, it doesn’t have time limit or requires you to install any kind to software in order to use it. It’s very useful for Backup Internet Connection when your dsl connection fails.
The drawback of this freebie is that the ISP blocks almost all ports except for those you use to view web pages, as what it said from its website Q&A: “This service is designed for web browsing only. You will not be able to set up a server on your own machine, nor will you be able to connect with telnet, ftp, ssh, SMTP, etc.” It basically only opens port 80, 8080, 443 for https and maybe others for you to visit websites, but it doesn’t monitor the traffics on the ports, despite what the website says, you’re still able to connect to ftp, telnet or other services that uses the http ports instead of their standard ports, also you can use Instant Messengers such as AIM, Yahoo Messenger, and MSN Messenger over there since they only need the http ports. Overall it’s a very good ISP that gives you a worthwhile free dial up service.

At first I thought there was a problem with the scripts, but it still won’t load completely even after disabling the scripts, then I tried to disable activex controls, and it loaded perfectly without the flash objects. Then I suspect the flash videos I have is causing those problems, I tried different flash objects and I found out that those with <object> tags won’t break the page, but those with <embed> actually do. I changed all my videos to

Sometimes we see some annoying wide spaces in between the post body, which makes the post looks wierd, like this one in the picture. That’s because the theme’s stylesheet made the post body’s texts to align justified. To get rid of those wide spaces we have to open the file style.css in the folder “wp-content/themes/your theme”, find the .post { section or .entry-content { section if you’re using K2 and change text-align: justify; to text-align: left; to make the text to align left, so that they won’t make wide spaces by sometimes aligning left and sometimes aligning right. After changing this file the wide spaces will be gone.

On the right side of those websites come a list of other posts and mostly important, ads from adsense.
At first I was curious about why they do that until I see the ads over there, they do that because they want people to click their ads, those guys collect excerpts of posts by doing google blog search with some high paying keywords for the ads and put them together so that the search engine show their website more often, most of them shows a link for the original posts on every posts, but some won’t! Some of them even label the ads with misleading labels like “my websites”. That sucks, they’re like using our posts for their ad purposes.

Today I decided to use the domain theusefulblog.com for my blog and use Wordpress to host my blog instead of Blogger. I decided not to use tipspedia.info since .info domain kinda sucks. I bought a very cheap web hosting from CirtexHosting which is only $2.50 a month or $24 a year. Despite its low price, I found the service is excellent, it gives you 5000 MB Storage, 100 GB Bandwidth, PHP, CGI, MYSQL, and 5 Email / FTP Accounts in the basic plan, it’s almost never down and its support is also excellent, and it has Live Support where they answer your questions very quickly, the email support is also very fast.

After I created the host and installed WordPress on it I started to migrate the old posts from Blogger to WordPress. Because my Blogger was beta I can’t import it directly, I had to import its post’s RSS to the new blog, after importing I found the timestamp was off by seven hours I had to change them back one by one by hand, I also had to type the comments in one by one again since I don’t know how to import them from Blogger to WordPress :(. It took me about three hours to do all those…. Finally I finish migrating by putting the customization I had from Blogger to here and pick a theme for my new blog.

Right now I just don’t know how to change the top menu for this K2 style TrueBlue, the links over there are not obvious enough,

if anybody know how to make it look better please tell me about that by leaving a comment here.

Today my friend had a problem with his computer, while Windows is booting it restarted unexpectedly without leaving any error message. I tried to boot under safe mode, but still had the same problem, it restarted again. I then tried the start up option “Disable Automatic Restart on System Failure” on the boot menu, this time it gave me the blue screen with the message “registry error 0×000051” and it told me that registry was corrupt. Because of this I had to use the recovery console to replace the corrupt registry with the last good registry found inside the System Volume Information folder, which is where the System Restore’s files located.
Here’s how I did that:

After logging in to the recovery console cd to C:\System Volume Information, then dir to list the directories inside of it, you’ll see a lot of folder named _restore{*} along with their date, cd to the most recent _restore{*} . If you don’t know what recovery console is or you’re not comfortable with it please check out this page.

List all files inside of it and choose the most recent folder RPxxx that you think the registry at that date was still not corrupted.

Cd to the folder Snapshot.

List all files again and you’ll notice something like

_REGISTRY_MACHINE_SAM
_REGISTRY_MACHINE_SECURITY
_REGISTRY_MACHINE_SOFTWARE
_REGISTRY_MACHINE_SYSTEM
_REGISTRY_USER_.DEFAULT

Back up the existing registries in the system folder just in case of the something goes wrong we can restore those registries

copy c:\windows\system32\config\system c:\windows\tmp\system.bak
copy c:\windows\system32\config\software c:\windows\tmp\software.bak
copy c:\windows\system32\config\sam c:\windows\tmp\sam.bak
copy
c:\windows\system32\config\security c:\windows\tmp\security.bak
copy
c:\windows\system32\config\default c:\windows\tmp\default.bak

Replace the corrupt registry in the system by running

copy _registry_machine_software c:\windows\system32\config\software
copy _registry_machine_system c:\windows\system32\config\system
copy _registry_machine_sam c:\windows\system32\config\sam
copy _registry_machine_security c:\windows\system32\config\security
copy _registry_user_.default c:\windows\system32\config\default

After replace the above files restart the computer and it should boot appropriately again.

Yesterday finally I got the first payment to my Paypal account by Bidvertiser, it was about 26 dollars, earned from the ads in my other websites. I’m very happy about that, since it’s the first time I get so much money in my Paypal account! It also proved that Bidvertiser actually pays, at least for a small amount, although I don’t recommend it to anyone who has a very good website, because sometimes it won’t count some clicks. In spite of this it accepts almost all kinds of websites, including the free web sites and subdomains, you don’t need to wait for your website to be approved, but be careful that if your website is not approved after they review it some times later your website along with the earning from it will be DELETED!

Anyways here’s the picture of the payment received from it:

One day in a forum I saw a website http://www.url-xp.com/ that “pays” $2.00 per 1000 impression + Pop-under, so I gave it a try to see if it works. I went to sign up there and I saw a very simple page where you can put the paypal email address or e-gold account there, but surprisingly there’s no Term of Use or anything like that there.

After signing up I put a website there and I tested the money link that “pays” $2 per 1000 impressions. Surprisingly it counts all visits including my own repeated visits, I wasn’t sure if it really pays because those websites that pays per impression almost always doesn’t count the visits from the same IP immediately, so I refreshed the money link 1015 times, and it showed about $2 there.
After three weeks I still didn’t get anything in my paypal, I check it again and the website still shows the two dollars there, except now it says minimum payout is $50. After seeing that I gave it one more try and added one more url to auto-refresh. I auto-refreshed every 3 seconds for one whole night until I wake up and see the balance went up above $50, after this the page still looks the same as before except for the balance. I checked it out after some weeks and it’s still the same, I still didn’t get anything paid for it. Now I check it again and the website is gone! I went to look at its domain registration data at GoDaddy.com and it says domain suspended because of abuse: http://who.godaddy.com/whois.aspx?domain=URL-XP.COM&prog_id=godaddy.

here’s the picture of the $50.153 they owe me, it seemed to be gotten effortlessly, but it’s never paid:

Autosurf is a good way to increase your site’s traffic, it works by you visiting other people’s sites automatically in exchange for other people’s visits, sites are shown for a specific amounts of time then rotates afterward. Once you start the autosurf window, you can sit there to watch each websites that it shows up or you can go to do something else. There are many autosurf websites available, you could just google search “autosurf” to find them, the good ones can even get over hundreds hits(unique and non-unique) per hour. But some of them shows sites that load too many stuff that freezes the browser, or cheating sites like frame breaker, which redirect the page on the top frame, thus breaking the rotator’s frame.
Many autosurf websites won’t work well with Internet Explorer as they won’t rotate, you should use FireFox to browse them, if you don’t have FireFox, get
now! To prevent the frame breakers or sites that lag the computer, or to open many autosurf rotators at once without lagging you should install the extension NoScript, then block all the scripts except for the autosurf sites, because they need javascript in order to rotate. After that you should also block the plugins because they will lag, click the NoScript icon in the status bar and then click options, click the advanced tab and check forbid java, flash, and other plugins, click OK to save. If you want to open many autosurf sites at once you should also disable loading images except for the autosurf sites, and open the sites in tabs instead of many windows. Once you’ve done all of those you could surf 24 hours a day to exchange traffic for your website with little or no breaking and lagging.

Note that the traffics generated by autosurfs are artificial traffics, people usually won’t look at your websites, if you want your website to be seen by other people you should try Manual Traffic Exchanges like iLoveHits, FastFreeway, or BlogExplosion, they require the user to verify before switching to other websites instead of done automatically.
