wubi is full of bugs.

I have a hd with 2 partitions: c: that have windows installed and d: that i let free to install this wubi.

wubi.exe is in the c:\hold\ubuntu ok.

I run this file and choose to install in full d:

the installer create in D:\ubuntu\disks: home.disk, root.disk, swap.disk and usr.disk and some others.

after said that this level is complete the installer ask me to reboot, ok, reboot this f* machine.

after reboot i choose for ubuntu boot and wow ubuntu is running, but not, s***, its only as a live cd, blah.

the system really is ok to install now, lets go.

check disks, scan, bla, bla, bla and ERROR. f***

the "livecd" said me that i don't have root partition defined ? wtf ?

but the wubi created this and "you have to set a root partition in the partitioning" ok, lets go.

then i click on OK button and this screen appear again and again and again ?

mas que merda, i think. and never ubuntu installs.

i choose for thi wubi because i have a good machine but i don't have cdrom and boot for usbpendrive don't do.

i spend 2 days trying and googling for this.

i'm so sad !!!

sure obscure the noobs.... no its not that bad. linux had multi-user WAY before windows did.its more stable. [avoid bleeding edge distros] lately has current drivers to rival windows.

WAY different.

yes, parts are older than shit. [rm,ln, etc...] but the commands are MORE powerful. You have shortcuts on the command console[links -example: ln -s file1 file2].the command console [non-root] is colored for easy file type determination by YOU.

there are lots of apps lately to rival $$$$$$ applications in windows.

BEST of ALL: I PAID NOTHING for the OS, and I can do with it what I DAMN WELL PLEASE. ever read the EULA for windows??? M$ OWNS YOU.

the community could care less.UBUNTU and DEBIAN are WIDELY supported, though you can't contact the authors directly. bugs are listed openly on trac or launchpad.

you can pull bleeding edge sources from SVN,CVS if you desire.

would reccommend disbling compiz though gnome if you use it, lately the wobbly windows and other effects [yeah, like the old days when you played with sheet metal....] glitch the titlebar.

those effects you see on tv are possible with linux lately. the M$ table is what it is, but linux had most of these 'effects' first.

windows pulls some shit from linux/unix and tries to hide that fact from you.matter of fact, M$-DOS was based on CP/M, a UNIX [much older] variant.

so who stole code from who again??

[not that it matters with the GNU-Public liicence, but really.....]
